The Powerball Amateur State Championship Series is a tournament series powered by the Carvana PPA Tour. These events (put on by top tournament providers from across the country) give amateur players the chance to compete in state championship-level tournaments and qualify for the champions division at the World Pickleball Championships.

This series offers a unique opportunity to compete on a nationally unified stage while maintaining an inclusive, community-driven environment. Players can showcase their skills, represent their state, and connect with competitors nationwide. The season culminates at the 2026 World Championships in Dallas, Texas, where Champions Division medalists from every state face off in the ultimate amateur showdown.

No! These tournaments are open state championships, meaning you can compete in any state championship event you choose regardless of your residency.

Yes! Players are welcome to travel and compete in as many events as they would like.

Divisions may include men’s doubles, women’s doubles, mixed doubles, and singles (at select locations).

Skill levels are based on DUPR ratings. The following skill divisions are offered:
2.5 (DUPR below 2.999)
3.0 (DUPR of 3.000-3.499)
3.5 (DUPR of 3.500-3.999)
4.0 (DUPR of 4.000-4.499)
4.5 (DUPR of 4.500-4.999)
5.0+ (DUPR above 5.000)

Yes. Junior divisions will also be played at these events.

Players who medal at a Powerball Amateur State Championship Series event qualify for the Champions Division of the World Pickleball Championships in Farmer’s Branch, Texas. They will also receive registration discounts based on what medal they were awarded.
Gold Medal: Free registration
Silver Medal: 50% off registration
Bronze Medal: 25% off registration
Registration discounts apply, but players are still responsible for any remaining event fees.
Additionally, any player who wins a medal at an event that was hosted by Southern Pickleball, will be qualified to come and compete in the Southern Pickleball Championships in Macon, Georgia.
